Move over bows – this 3D detail is taking over our wardrobes (and it’s SJP-approved)

Thanks to Emilia Wickstead, Cecilie Bahnsen and Self-Portrait, bows were the fashion embellishment du jour over summer, but now another hyper-feminine detail is muscling in on their 3D turf. Following on from Sarah Jessica Parker resurrecting Carrie Bradshaw’s beloved corsage in the first season of And Just Like That, rosettes of all sizes featured on countless spring/summer 2023 runways at Paris Fashion Week – from Chanel and Prada to Acne, Blumarine and even Dries Van Noten. And of course, the high street has been quick to take note, so you don’t have to wait til spring to hop on this micro-trend bandwagon.

Still unsure what to wear to Friendsmas? Mango (£59.99), Karen Millen (£129) and Zara’s (£59.99) statement mini-dresses are perfect for the first proper out-out party season since 2019. Reformation’s knit midi dress (£190) will have you covered for winter weddings and smarter seasonal affairs, but if your closet is already at bursting point, Bernadette’s ethereal dress can be rented for a fraction of its retail price (£87). More of a jeans-and-a-nice-top person? Mango’s embellished body (£49.99) ticks the sartorial box or for more of a statement, go for Warehouse’s oversized corsage bandeau top (£79, also available as a dress). For more casual outings, embrace the trend with the former’s flower detail blouse (£49.99) or Sister Jane’s ruffle collar design (£69). And if it’s a finishing touch you’re after, Zara (£12.99), Free People (£40) and Coal and Candyfloss’ (£27.50) corsage accessories will have you looking more festive than department store gift wrapping. If it’s good enough for SJP…

Soho’s newest restaurant is the lovechild of Scottish seafood and Spanish flavours

When it’s cold, dark and miserable, the country is lurching from one crisis to the next and you’re tempted to burrow under your Tekla duvet and never come out, an excellent new Spanish restaurant arrives to remind you that yes, we can have nice things. This is not the first rodeo for Maresco’s team, having opened Bar Esteban in Crouch End in 2013 followed by Stoke Newington’s Escocesa – but the Soho site has a tighter focus on seafood than its siblings.

“I’m a sucker for Scottish seafood so practically sprinted into Maresco’s industrial-feel ground floor and onto a stool overlooking the open kitchen,” says Stylist Loves editor Gemma Crisp. “Downstairs has tables for groups but if you’re a duo, the stools are where the action is. For the fish-averse, Spanish classics such as heaving pan con tomate and unctuous sobrassada croquettas will hit the spot, and don’t skip the charcoal cauliflower with mojo verde and pomegranate or charcoal leeks with romesco – I could have bathed in the delicious sauces. But with halibut, razor clams, oysters, boquerones, calamari and salmon on the menu, it’s a seafood lover’s nirvana – even the txistorra sausage is made of monkfish and mackerel. The window tables looking onto Soho’s bustle are the perfect spot to tuck into fideuà with langoustine while ordering another gin, basil, lime, elderflower and cucumber Kimbala cocktail and counting down the days to summer.” 45 Berwick St, London, W1F
