Framed prints and posters can bring even the plainest room to life. These online art print shops get Stylist’s seal of approval…
Whether you’re into crisp black-and-white photography, evocative paintings or vivid typography, you’ll know that the right piece of art can elevate any space. Choose something that echoes other colours in the room and the environment will immediately feel styled and cohesive, while standout, statement pieces can imbue homes with character and originality.
There’s just one hitch: buying original art is often eye-wateringly expensive. That’s not unreasonable, given the work required to create something someone would want to hang on their living room wall, but in reality we’re not always in a position to make that kind of investment. (This is particularly true for those of us who rent: when you know you may have to move at any time, it’s much more nerve-racking to commit to a costly artwork that may not fit in your next place.)
This is where art prints and posters come in. Replicas of original artwork are invariably much cheaper than the real thing, and once you’ve added a stylish frame, they can make any room come alive. Read on for Stylist’s edit of where to find the most covetable art prints and posters in 2024.

Glassette
Laura Jackson’s interiors marketplace, Glassette, is always stocked to the rafters with characterful homewares. We particularly love the wall prints section: Jackson and her team have a keen eye for spotting rising stars in the worlds of art and photography, and the selection of prints is refreshing in its variety and originality. This isn’t a place where interiors trends are blindly followed, but somewhere to source something you genuinely love.

Juniqe
If you can’t find something that appeals in Juniqe’s massive online selection, you may want to consider the possibility that you’d prefer blank walls. Prices are lower here, as the UK-based platform specialises in posters rather than fine art prints (which are generally produced in smaller batches using higher-quality paper and inks). But a striking poster can easily elevate a space, and Juniqe works with artists and designers to create its expansive yet helpfully curated collections. Just make sure you add a frame (also available on Juniqe) to ensure the vibe stays chic, not studenty.

If you get nostalgic about old-school photography or have a keen eye for one-of-a-kind interiors, you’ll love EyeEye: a Copenhagen-based platform transforming unseen vintage negatives into stunning limited edition prints. From stylised 1920s art deco nudes to otherworldly mountain ranges and fascinating snapshots of cities including Paris, New York and Athens in decades gone by, each black-and-white print opens a window onto the past and is testament to the unique wonder of shooting on film.

The Poster Club
Another Copenhagen-based online store that ships to the UK (there’s obviously something in the water in Denmark), The Poster Club does a fine line in elegant prints by Insta-famous artists like Sofia Lind, Carla Llanos and Isabelle Vandeplassche. Spanning colourful abstract paintings to whimsical still lives, the mood is crisp, cool and understatedly feminine, while the shop’s impeccable lifestyle photography offers plenty of inspiration for how to frame and style your new print(s).

The Wrong Shop
Initially launched as a furniture retailer in 2011 by Sebastian Wrong (a founder of high-end British interior design brand Established & Sons), The Wrong Shop is now best known as a spot to source cutting-edge prints and posters by acclaimed designers and artists from around the world. Current highlights include glossy, abstract photographs and drawings by French designer Ronan Bouroullec; minimalist, architecture-inspired designs by Nathalie du Pasquier, a pioneer of the 1980s Memphis Group aesthetic; and smudgy, dreamlike paintings by Dutch artist Rop van Mierlo, known for his work with Maison Kitsuné Paris and Hermès.

Into vivid colours and graphic prints that range from the geometric to the psychedelic? Allow us to introduce you to the limited edition risograph prints produced by this independent Glasgow-based design studio. Choose from larger individual prints or sets of four coordinating postcards designed by artists from diverse cities including Lisbon, Nashville and Ahmedabad – simply add frames for an instant mini gallery wall.

Partnership Editions
This digital-first dealership was founded by London-based Georgia Spray in 2017 to make art collecting more accessible for people in their 20s and 30s. Original artworks are on offer here, but the prints are the most affordable options – they’re also seriously high quality, produced on beautiful paper and often made to order in limited runs (reducing the likelihood that you’ll have the same print hanging in your living room as three of your friends).

Smallable
Delivering worldwide, Paris-based Smallable bills itself as a ‘family concept store’, selling womenswear and cosmetics as well as plenty of children’s items. But don’t be fooled by the kid-friendly angle – its wall decoration section is excellent, boasting a huge range of grown-up posters from covetable interior brands including Hôtel Magique, Rose England and Maison Sarah Lavoine.

Drool
With a focus on platforming the work of underrepresented young creatives, Drool’s aesthetic is sharp, playful and uncompromisingly contemporary – think trippy shapes, stark typography and cartoonish influences. Founder Alex Liepman, a London-based graphic designer himself, says he curates the site’s selection based on his personal aesthetic; correspondingly, it’s not hard to imagine these designs illustrating the flyer for a Hackney club night or adorning the team’s T-shirts at an achingly cool food pop-up.

King & McGaw
Looking for a legitimate, top-notch print of a specific work by a famous artist? Look no further than King & McGaw, one of the UK’s biggest and best art print shops. All the biggest players in art history are represented here, thanks to collaborations with V&A, Tate, The National Gallery and more – so whether you’re into Jean-Michel Basquiat or Hilma Af Klint, you’re likely to find your favourite piece. (There’s also plenty of choice when it comes to print sizes and frames.)

Wall Of Art
If you find the process of choosing art for your home slightly overwhelming, allow Wall Of Art’s website to guide you through it. This platform’s gorgeous selection of printed paintings, illustrations, photography and more is broken down into easy-to-navigate sections, so you can get a sense of where your tastes lie. And while part of the joy of building an art collection is assembling pieces that you personally love, here you’ll find a range of pre-curated gallery walls – buy all the works on display in one go, if you fancy, or just take a look to get inspired.
