| Hot sauce fans, this two-day festival is your craft condiment dreams come true | If you make scrambled eggs with the primary aim of creating a vessel for sriracha and own a bar cart’s worth of Cholula, Frank’s and Encona, you’ll want to factor this festival into your weekend plans. Aptly named Hot Sauce Society, the two-day chilli-based celebration will see more than 40 independent brands gather in Peckham’s Copeland Park for you to sample their tastiest mixes. Think Guyanese flavours from Pat and Pinky’s, Condimaniac’s small batch offerings, and unexpected combinations from Saucy Bitch (black coffee hot sauce, anyone?), plus a number of female-founded brands such as Taino, Baj’s Blazin’ and She Hot Pepper.
After all that hot sauce tasting, you’ll probably be in need of a beverage – not only will you find a Patron tequila bar but Battersea’s Mondo Brewing Company will be pouring an exclusive beer that’s been created especially to pair with hot sauce. Plus, expect street food traders including South London’s Only Jerkin’ and Indian vegan emporium En Root. Prepare to come away with very satisfied tastebuds and many, many new bottles of sauce to work your way through as you binge the latest season of Hot Ones… £12; 21-22 August; 133 Copeland Rd, SE15

| You’re Going To Love: Melior In the latest chapter of our series spotlighting up-and-coming independent brands with female and non-binary founders, meet social enterprise Melior
| What is it? Launched in February, Melior is a Hackney-based social enterprise bringing jobs and opportunities to unemployed people who are visually impaired or have disabilities via its eco-friendly cleaning range.
Who’s behind it? Founder Diane Cheung, 44, a former marketing manager who felt inspired to take action after witnessing injustices against people with disabilities. “I know a job just isn’t a ‘job’, but a lifeline,” she tells Stylist Loves. “I was equally overwhelmed by the amount of waste and the amount of greenwashing happening all around us.”
Why you’ll love it: If there was any brand that could get you excited about making your bathroom mirror sparkle, we’d put our money on Melior. Meaning “better” in Latin, Melior looks to provide employment to some of the UK’s 1.1 million disabled people by creating a line of sustainable cleaning products. Thanks to the use of innovative bio-technology, all products are vegan and non-toxic with a zero waste focus. So far, the refillable collection includes an all purpose hero (£9.50), bathroom cleaner (£9.50), and stain remover (£9.50), with scope to develop a range of eco-friendly beauty products in the future. But that’s only the beginning. “Our next goal is to provide a better stage for young artists,” says Cheung. “For our next four collections, Melior will be giving four young creatives our labels as a canvas to showcase their talent.” Watch this space. meliorlondon.uk
